Editing your video

After you have taken all the video footage you need you will notice it doesn't exactly look professional. But dont worry, we have the answer!
To make a video look more professional you will want to use some movie editing software. Their are a lot of programs to help you edit your videos, it all depends on your brand of computer and your budget. But for our purposes we will focus on good free software.
The best free editing software for windows is movie maker, also the stock option for windows. Its simple to understand and user friendly. Anyone could edit videos with movie maker and they would look more than decent.
If you are fortunate enough to have an apple MacBook than you can use iMovie. I have had more experience with iMovie than movie maker. I believe iMovie is supreme to movie maker but you have to buy a mac to use it which can be costly.

Resolution/Quality

When watching videos have you ever noticed how some videos are blurry and some are so crystal clear? That is a factor called "resolution". Resolution is the quality in which the video appears.
240p is a poor resolution it's rarely used anymore.
480p is a lot better
1080p is considered High Quality
Every so often you'll see resolution presented like "1920X1080" this represents that the resolution is being counted as Length/Width.

Equipment?

What type of equipment is necessary for professional looking videos?

Camera:
Inexpensive: A phone camera.
Average: Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX400V - $400-$500
Expensive: Sony Alpha ILCE-7 - $1,698-$1,746

Camera Stands:

Sunpak - PlatinumPlus 5858D 58" Tripod

Any form of camera stands will generally work, however you may want a taller stand to be able to give your camera the flexibility to move in most any direction.

Expert video editing software

Pro tools is a high class movie editing software that some big 'youtubers' use. This software is also used by big movie companies. Thu software is very complex and because I haven't used it before I'm going to let you read up on the wiki rather than having you bumble through my poor description of it.

So What's the Next Step?

Checklist
1: The Idea
2: The Cast/Crew
3: The Equipment
4: General Direction
5: Finally, Film

If you've met the above requirements you're about ready to start filming a video(s). Keep in mind these are strictly opinion and suggestions. No one's idea is perfect our steps may or may not work for you, but they're a decent place to start it gives a person a sense of confidence because it provides you with a base to start building off of.

How To Make The "Professional" Video

From what I've seen and done YouTube videos, or any videos for that matter, won't be done well on cheap equipment. Unfortunately for us all we have is our phones. However luckily enough for all the people out there looking to make professional looking videos there are two ways that one can go about doing that. 1.Look, no matter what you're going to have to drop some money on a camera that can capture at a high enough resolution and for that you're going to need money. Regardless you HAVE to spend a little money on camera, fortunately enough there are relatively inexpensive cameras that can still produce a decent resolution. 2.You have to make use of some of the awesome, free video editing programs found around on the internet. The Microsoft Movie Maker just isn't going to cut it after awhile and what if you don't have money to go spend on a Mac? Well Linux, a third party computer software OS (Operating System) can definitely supply you with the tools necessary to "Wow" your viewers. Remember, however, it will take a substantial amount of time to learn how to edit so make sure you're dedicated to the process.

Making your videos look professional

On youtube their are many different kinds of video. The video that was shot by kids with a phone camera (bad quality). The video that was made with a real video camera making the quality better. Then you have the professionals with dedicated equipment and experience, making the video even better quality.
So for the next step of making a good youtube video you need to make sure that you have good video quality. To create a really good youtube video you need good equipment to make watchable and great youtube video.
